Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage in NYC by Tia LomiManhattan
Tia demonstrating Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage.
Lomi Lomi is a spiritual and holistic massage with origins as a Hawaiian healing tradition. The massage engages mindful touch which uses mainly the soft part of the forearms and hands to run continuously along the whole body without disconnection. The strokes merge into a long, gentle relaxing flow. The massage connects the client to his/her body in an integral whole. The experience feels like gentle ocean wave weaving and nurturing your body and soul.
The spiritual aspect of the massage is the practice and integration of 7 Huna principles in lifestyle and within the session.
1. ALOHA : To love (others and self love). The spirit of Aloha is to love and welcome people with a warm, joyous, loving and friendly attitude -- the attitude of acceptance. The Aloha spirit is within the therapist.
2. IKE (ee-kay): The world is what you think it is. How powerful the mind is -- how it creates and affects our beliefs! The therapist creates a safe, healing and non-judgemental space for the client. Each of us owns our own experiences.
3. MANAWA : Now is the moment of power. Lomi Lomi is a practice of being present. When therapist is fully present, the experience is fully mindful. This allows effective connection. This allows the client to be present with the therapist's touch and allows the client to connect with his or her own body.
4. MAKIA (mah-kee-ah) : Energy flows where attention goes . The therapist 's mind is lazer focused where the touch connects and how the energy flows there. Energy is spent wherever it is purposefully directed.
5. PONO. Effectiveness is a measure of truth. This is the practice of alignment. Live life authentically in alignment with your values. In the Lomi session, the therapist 's breath, movement and mental focus are in alignment.
6. MANA : All power comes from within. You are the one who defines your experience. Experience is the internal that manifests the external. The internal force becomes the external reality. Other people have no power over you – other than the one you give them. One energetic form of Mana in a session is circulating energy the therapist carries. The therapist generates Mana internally using breath and movements .
7.KALA : There are no limits. What is it in our mind that limits our full potential ? Are you ready to let of limiting believes that don't serve you ?
